On May 2, 2018 Carpigiani Frozen Dessert University will commence courses in Vernon Hills featuring Malcolm Stogo, a world renowned frozen dessert consultant and educator with over 30 years of experience. Courses will be three days of customized training for those who want to enter a new business and or want to improve their skills.

Frozen desserts have a new point of reference in the USA and world. Courses at Carpigiani Frozen Dessert University begin on May 2, 2018 (frozendessertuniversity.com). The courses are designed for those who want to enter a new sweet business or further their knowledge. These new three days courses are focused on artisan ice cream and other desserts made for the most demanding palates. The class features Malcolm Stogo, founder of Ice Cream University and a professional in the field for over 30 years. The course will also include industry experts selected by Carpigiani, an Italian company founded in 1946 and a world leader in the production of artisanal frozen dessert equipment. Carpigiani’s US subsidiary is based in Vernon Hills, IL within the brand new Culinary Center which also hosts the courses of the Gelato University.

The frozen dessert retail industry has burst wide open with enthusiasm from individuals who are eager to create new and delicious products that just a few years ago were not even in one’s vocabulary. Carpigiani has recognized this trend and has created this new workshop series to enable potential operators to be creative in the culinary arts. The educational program is based on theory as well as hands-on learning to allow each student to be as creative as he or she wants to be. This hands-on ice cream making program is specifically designed to provide the students with all the tools necessary to be successful in the frozen dessert business. They will leave the class with a wide-range of knowledge, confidence and continued hands-on support from Malcolm Stogo and other industry experts who have been teaching individuals how to get into the artisanal ice cream business for many years.

The 2018 three day courses are scheduled for May 2-4; July 11-13; September 11-13; November 14-16. The cost of the course is $900. For more information contact: Malcom Stogo (malcolm@icecreamuniversity.org) or Dawn Ortiz (dawno@carpigiani-usa.com). Website: frozendessertuniversity.com
