Scotsman IceMobile Rolls Into Town

Vernon Hills, Ill (May 1, 2014)— Ice in Summer?! With multiple destinations in Southern California and more than 600 miles to cover, the Scotsman “IceMobile” hits the road on May 10, 2014. The vehicle and its tour provide a new, chill, mobile stage for the brand to connect with their local communities. Scotsman Ice Systems, the world’s “coolest company” and leading ice machine manufacturer, will be promoting their two residential ice machines – the Gourmet Cuber Ice Machine and the Brilliance® Nugget Ice Machine.

“At Scotsman, we embrace fun, fresh and unconventional thinking. We’re driving around the Southern California area in a customized box truck serving ice cold, refreshing drinks to consumers—it’s awesome,” says Larry Lozar, Vice President of Sales and Marketing – Consumer Products. “We want to keep consumers engaged with the brand, and the mobile truck fits the bill, allowing us to bring the experience direct to the consumer. It is fun and unexpected, and fosters the notion that Scotsman does things differently.”

From Irvine to San Diego, the truck’s route will cover various cities, with many partner kitchen/bath and appliance retailers playing host in each location. At each tour stop, consumers will be able to choose for themselves which ice they prefer, sampling both the Cube and Nugget ice. Each type of ice serves its own purpose, whether for a slow melt in cocktails or crunchy goodness in soda or lemonade.

The Scotsman IceMobile tour is part of a larger national effort for America to ‘Choose Your Ideal Ice’– #CravetheCube or #LuvTheNug – or choose both! There is also a digital push to fuel the truck’s trip. The brand is encouraging consumers to post images using the hasthtag #ChooseYourIce, and by following the Twitter handle, @TheIdealIce, to locate the whereabouts of the truck.
