Erik Nommsen Named Chief Executive Officer of Ali Group EMEA/APAC

VERNON HILLS, Ill., and MILAN, Italy (March 11, 2024) – Filippo Berti, Chairman and CEO of Ali Group, today announced an organizational change to become effective August 31, 2024.

Erik Nommsen, who has served as Chief Executive Officer of Ali Group North America since 2022, will assume the role previously held by Andrea Cocchi, covering responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and APAC (Asia-Pacific) regions of Ali Group.

Nommsen brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of leadership within the Ali Group to this position. He was named Chief Executive Officer for Ali Group North America in 2022 and has provided comprehensive oversight across Ali Group’s North America companies. Nommsen joined Champion Industries in 2008, where he served as President for six years. After a two-year break in another industry, he returned to Champion in 2016 as President. In 2017, he became President of the Ali Group North America – Refrigeration Division. From 2019 to 2023, he also served as President of Scotsman Ice Systems.

Cocchi held the position of Chief Executive Officer for the EMEA/APAC region since 2019. His career with Ali Group began in 1998, when he assumed the position of Controller at Carpigiani. His tenure at Carpigiani was marked by a series of progressively senior roles.
